Ross Wightman

I am available for private lessons in double bass performance, contemporary music performance, music technology and composition.

I have a variety of teaching experiences as a private instructor, classroom instructor as well as double bass sectional coach. I work with students of all ages and abilities.

I am excited to work on general technique for beginning double bass students as well as teaching students who wish to explore contemporary performance techniques and styles.

For music technology, I offer private lessons on Max/MSP and Ableton software from beginning to advanced students.

Advised students on creative projects including working out artistic, conceptual, and musical ideas as well as troubleshooting musical software coding in Laptop Ensemble and Max/MSP electronic music courses.

Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra       2016-2017

Taught weekly double bass sectionals for undergraduate Double Basses working on orchestral repertoire, technique and ensemble playing.  

Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra         2016-2017

Taught at the Intensive Community Project and Summer Camps for students age 6 - 14. Worked on ensemble playing, bass fundamentals, technique, and music theory.
